Quotes & References[]
- "Barney, Wojo and Harris are fighting again..."
Josh is referring to characters from the TV comedy series Barney Miller (1975-1982). The titular Barney was the Captain of a rundown police precinct in New York City. Detectives Wojciehowicz ("Wojo" for short) and Harris were two of the officers under Barney's command. Like the combatants in film, Wojo and Harris were Caucasian and African-American, respectively.
- "Dave Higgins?"
The heavyset bespectacled character resembles actor David Anthony Higgins, also known as Dave. Higgins is known for his supporting roles on such TV series as Ellen and Malcolm in the Middle. He had been one of the titular Higgins Boys on the early Comedy Channel series Higgins Boys and Gruber (with Dave "Gruber" Allen).
- "My pen! MY PEN!"
Referring to a sketch from the TV series The Kids in the Hall in which Bruce McCullough plays an highly-strung civil servant who goes to great lengths to recover his (easily replaceable) ballpoint pen from someone who unintentionally walked off with it.
